DAF Trucks shirts

This stylish casual shirt is inspired by the shirt of the DAF Trucks cycling team from 1981. In this year Hennie Kuiper takes the win in the Tour of Flanders after a nice team play with Roger De Vlaeminck. The cyclocross rider Hennie Stamsnijder was also part of the team. He was the first Dutchman to become World Champion Cyclocross in the Spanish Basque Country in 1981.

DAF Trucks cycling team

DAF Trucks was a Belgian cycling team that was active in the professional peloton from 1979 to 1983. In 1981 the co-sponsor Côte d’Or was added. Big names in this team were Roger De Vlaeminck and Hennie Kuiper, but the very young Dutch Adrie van der Poel also wore the white shirt with the blue / orange stripes.

Roger De Vlaeminck

Roger De Vlaeminck was a great cyclist in the Classics. In particular his results in Paris-Roubaix are impressive with 4 wins and a total of 9 podium positions. This gave him the nickname Monsieur Paris-Roubaix. Also in other Classics De Vlaeminck was outstanding. He won 3x Milan-San Remo, 2x the Tour of Lombardy, 1x the Tour of Flanders and Liège-Bastogne-Liège.
